Most of the stuff I didn’t get around to were things that I only wanted to play a little bit, though, so no big loss. I picked up every new Mario game at launch, just the same as I did for Final Fantasy X and X-2. Still, I found the time to play the biggest stuff that I wanted to play. The shame is that there are games I bought back in 2003 that I still haven’t found time to play by 2013. It never stopped, eventually reaching the point where there wasn’t anything else on last gen systems that I could conceivably want, as I’d bought everything I had even a passing interest in.

Considering I used to play every game I owned to utter completion, this was pretty weird for me, but the appeal of being able to get everything I wanted was too hard to pass up. So I did, buying up anything and everything I thought I’d ever want to play, quickly building up a pile of games I didn’t have the time to play. As I hit the job market, I was able to afford more games, and suddenly found myself in a position where I could get anything I had an interest in.

I have had a serious problem with my backlog since the PS2 days. I know many of those things are affecting game sales, but I’m wondering if one of the biggest problems is also one of the most simple: Are there too many good games? Naturally, everyone wants to know why, and point to things like rampant spending by developers, the rise of smartphone games (and Facebook games, and the Wii, and Zynga, and…), the homogenizaton of games, lackluster DLC, and many other excuses. Games are selling millions of copies yet still showing losses something that doesn’t even seem to make sense yet still happens.

There are a lot of journalists and game developers out there trying to figure out how to keep the market profitable for everyone, especially in the triple A market. Or maybe I'm just completely wrong and it completely plays into the skill/strategy aspect of the game.Is the excess of quality games somehow a problem for the video game industry? Or maybe it was just the delay of movements. The move buffering was a bit too much for me. The invisibility stuff really reminds of the invisibility in Towerfall, it quite easy to keep track of yourself but I imagine it getting way harder the more people enter the ring. Adding an AI opponent (even a super dumb randomly moving one) would have made it more accessible for us loners of the world.

Wasn't the greatest of experiences playing solo but I think I got the gist of it. Distinguishing the different tiles was a bit confusing at first (to me, some of the walls looked like floors and vice versa) but kinda got used to them. Very well polished game, looked and sounded great! Very nice color palette selection, made it quite pleasant to look at. Haha, so were you gonna make this game whatever the theme was? I guess it could also kinda fit for 'The Last One' :D We also apply for the 'most themes of the shortlist incorporated'-award, as we have robots, invisibility and chain (reactions) for exploding mines. And if that does not happen quick enough, there is a Sudden Death timer. If you shoot or remotely detonate a mine, if you bump into a wall or if you pick up a powerup (increasing mine capacity, adding a shield, getting a mega detonator), you will be visible for a short time - for you and for all other players. Of course not even robots are invisible all the time. This means you have to remember where everyone was and especially where you are. But the speciality of those robots is invisibility. In InvisiMine each player controls a little robot which can drive around and throw mines.
